The FreeWishes Foundation was founded by Grammy-award winning Artist Nayvadius ‘Future’ Wilburn alongside his mother Stephanie Jester and his sister, Tia Wilburn. The foundation is dedicated to the legacy of Future’s maternal great-grandmother, Ruby Nell Gates, affectionately known as “Big Mama”. She was the matriarch of the family and a pillar in her community; the doors to heart and her home were always open to those in need.
Nearly ten years ago, FreeWishes unknowingly held our first event at the East Lake YMCA located in Atlanta, GA with about 45 senior citizens in attendance. FreeWishes catered Thanksgiving meals with all the fixings. At the event, every senior was blessed with a ham or turkey to share with his or her family. Today, the foundation has evolved into a versatile non-profit organization that sponsors a wide-range of programs, events and services throughout Atlanta.
